Bangladesh Association
Ahmed became an Executive Committee Member of the Bangladesh Association in 1985, going on for a spell as President. In 1990 Ahmed set up Bangladesh House which is a centre to help the Bangladeshi community in the south-west of England become integrated into the British way of life and get advice on important issues. It also provides an integrated service with other agencies in the area.
